We recently took a drive to Silver Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon with G’pa and G’ma Johnson. Although the weather didn’t cooperate entirely, we were still able to enjoy the beautiful colors that accompany this time of year.

A kid’s perspective on the ecosystem – chocolate milk or bust!
Jacob brought home an assignment he had completed in his third grade class this week. Seth and I read his comments on the bottom of the page in reference to the question: “Using the illustration, explain how you become a part of the simple food chain” and got a good chuckle. One of the great …

Hiking the Narrows at Zion
Zion National Park is one of my favorite places on earth. I love the scenery and the hikes. It’s a place people come from all over the world to see, and that I have access to it with just a short drive. So when my cousin Ben (I’d link to his blog, but it’s one …
Les Miserables in Tuacahn
This weekend our family made a quick trip to St. George to visit my dad. Seth thought it would be a good idea for my dad and I to sneak out for a “daddy/daughter” date and go see Les Miserables at the Tuacahn Theatre in St. George. I have not been to very many musicals …

First Day of School
Today was Jacob and Megan’s first day of school. Jacob is in 3rd grade now and Meg is in 1st grade. They were so excited for their first day back. They both neatly set out their clothes and woke up bright and early to shower and get ready. It is new for Megan to have …

Summer is full of such craziness that I have found it difficult to write a post every time we do something fun or blog worthy. So I will instead include a few pictures of some fun things we have done recently. We are enjoying the flexibility of summer. It is nice to have our schedule …
