First Day of School

Today was Jacob and Megan’s first day of school. Jacob is in 3rd grade now and Meg is in 1st grade. They were so excited for their first day back. They both neatly set out their clothes and woke up bright and early to shower and get ready. It is new for Megan to have a full day of school so it was a bit of a change but she came home smiling big and toting some fun treats from her teacher. Jacob seemed to enjoy being back in school as well and was very sweet to watch out for his sister. When I asked him who he played with at recess he said, “I played with Megan so she wouldn’t be scared.”

Poor Katelyn was bored stiff without her playmate and best buddy. She missed Megan a lot. Katelyn will start preschool next week though so she will keep busy once it starts. Claire, well Claire is Claire and didn’t seem to notice a big change. She continued to destruct and destroy most anything she could get into throughout the day. It was bittersweet for me. It is nice to have some quiet time in the afternoon, but I truly missed having my big helpers home with me. I had really enjoyed our laid back summer routine and now it is back to chauffeuring and schedules.
