Les Miserables in Tuacahn

This weekend our family made a quick trip to St. George to visit my dad. Seth thought it would be a good idea for my dad and I to sneak out for a “daddy/daughter” date and go see Les Miserables at the Tuacahn Theatre in St. George. I have not been to very many musicals in my life. I now realize just what I was missing. It was fabulous! I so enjoyed myself and even more so the time I got to spend with my dad. It was nice to get away for dinner and the show by ourselves and just talk. I can’t wait for my next opportunity to go down that way for another show. I would highly recommend it!

My kids likewise enjoyed their time with Grandpa Gary. He took them to Walmart and bought a few bikes and scooters so they would have something to play on. They spent every morning and evening (afternoons were often too hot) out on their toys. My dad lives in Sun River which is an active adult community so kids are few and far between. My kids managed to win the hearts of a few people and by the end of the trip they already had acquired new relatives (Aunt Vera and Uncle Z as they are now known). They were able to convince Uncle Z and Aunt Vera to give them a can of apple juice each time they came by their house.  One morning the kids even woke up before Seth and I and ran out on their scooters to visit their new friends. My dad looked at the window and noticed Claire heading up to Aunt Vera’s house in the nude.

Within the few short days we were there Claire managed to wrap Grandpa right around her finger and could be found guiding him through the house and around the yard every minute she got. We also went to a local pool and Grandpa spent nearly two hours chasing the kids up and down the slide. I am not sure who was worn out more… Grandpa or the kids?! 🙂 Overall it was a great trip and we can’t wait to make it down that way again soon!

Grandpa Gary and all my kids!

  1. Wow! What a fun visit this was for G’pa Gary!

I truly enjoyed our dinner out and taking in the theatre; that was really nice. We’ll have to plan something super for Seth on the next trip. Thanks, Seth.

I had a super-great time with the kids and loved Claire’s nudie-trip down to see Aunt Vera and Uncle Z on Sunday morning. Uncle Roy (another new relative across the street) got to witness Claire’s maiden voyage with her stroller in hand and was still talking about it this morning. All the kids made quite an impression here as SunRiver. What a RIOT! 🙂

I love you and hope to see you all again SOON…

  2. What a great website!

Loved the visit from the kids and it was even more special because we have no grandkids. Maybe next time Drew can come down and get some juice too.

You have a beautiful family that are a joy to be around.

Tell Claire that Brother (our shy cat) came out from under the bed.

  3. Okay, I’m officially jealous. I’ve been DYING to go see Les Mis at Tuacahn and I’m just not seeing it happening this year. Glad someone got to go enjoy it though! You’ll have to tell me all about it so I can live vicariously through you. And a big pat on the back for Seth!

  4. That is SO Claire, just taking off for a little nudie-tudie-run-around! I’ll bet the neighbors will be talking about that for months!

Lily says hi to everyone. I can’t believe how long Megan’s hair is getting! See, you never should have shown them that hair website. Now they want to grow their hair out to do all kinds of complicated and time consuming hair-dos.
