Oops! Huh? What? For real? Seriously? No way!

Yes, these are all potential names for our upcoming little one. It is also pretty much the same response we expect from everyone we tell. Seth responded differently with something like, “#&*@,” but I can’t post that on our blog. So, we are excited to announce that we are once again pregnant — this will be our sixth babe. I am almost 12 weeks now and the ultrasound looked great. We are expecting this little one a few days after Thanksgiving.

For those of you still wondering “for real…?”, Seth and I initially thought we were done after the birth of Drew. Seth was more certain than I was and scheduled surgery to make it permanent. A week before the scheduled appointment I got cold feet and wasn’t comfortable with the idea of doing it just yet. Deep down I always thought we would have six kids, but at the time that thought seemed insane. Being the sweet husband he is, he canceled the surgery and we decided we would revisit the thought at a later time. So here we are nearly two years later having our sixth babe. Crazy? Maybe. But crazy is part of our lives now so we will be just fine.

Even though Seth was good with five, I expected we would have another one. I just expected it would be a few years down the road. Nonetheless we welcome “surprise baby” into our family and are grateful to be able to have one last chance to really cherish those special moments that we often take for granted.
