Our little Drew turned five on Sunday! Seriously, five? Wow! Unfortunately for him, his birthday fell on a Sunday so no Chuck-E-Cheese or Jump-on-it as he was hoping. However, he was lucky enough be able to celebrate with his Grandpa Mike who was turning 65! Before heading up to their home, we did have a small celebration at our house. Megan made brownies for Drew and he got to open his presents. He was screaming with excitement as he opened each present.
Spiderman web slinger! Yes! (That’s what he said.)
He was equally excited when he opened the skateboard that G’ma Ria got him. Although I don’t have pics, he also got a new 16 inch bike and a basketball hoop for his bedroom door. I think we could have gotten him anything and he would have loved it. He couldn’t wipe the smile off his face all day long!
Drew and G’pa Mike blowing out their candles!
On Monday he was able to celebrate his birthday with his Bear Hollow Preschool class! He got to be the leader and he was also able to bring home Little Bear for the night.
Of course, every five-year-old year birthday brings along the big “kindergarten checkup.” All reports came back great. He can see and hear perfectly and his coordination is great. He is a little shorter and skinnier than average, but that wasn’t entirely surprising. He promised Dr. Wise he would continue to eat his veggies and at least try all the foods his mom makes (yeah right!). The not-so fun part was the three shots that followed this picture. He was a champ though and only shed one small tear.
Next stop, kindergarten! Love you Drewbie!
