Katelyn had her baptism this past Saturday. The weeks leading up to the baptism were a little stressful worrying about a dress, luncheon, her birthday, gifts, etc. but come Saturday morning all was calm (or at least as much as it could be considering we have six kids!).
Seth had spent some time with Katelyn the night before preparing her for what would take place in the morning. She was as excited as she could be. With her white dress on, she headed over to the stake center to get into her whites. The baptism began by Aunt Emily giving a “Three Bears” talk on baptism. Then she was baptized by Seth while Grandpa Johnson and Great Grandpa Walt were the witnesses.
After she changed back into her dry clothes, Jake gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Next Katelyn was confirmed by Seth with Grandpa Johnson, Great Grandpa Walt, Uncle Spencer Haymond, Uncle Matt Thurman, Uncle Greg Rowberry and Brother Nicol in the circle.
It was a very sweet and tender morning for me. I was touched by the Spirit that was there. I had a strong confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel and I am so happy at the decision Katelyn has made to be baptized.
She is such a sweet, loving young lady. As Katelyn grows older I notice certain qualities that are very unique to just her. She is soft spoken but very aware of people’s feelings. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. She has an infectious laugh that wins the heart of everyone around her. Anytime I see her, whether after school or early in the morning, I can’t help but want to grab her up and hug her.
I love you sweet KK. I am so proud of you and lovely young lady you are becoming.
