Color Me Mine

Just before Father’s day the three older kids and I took a trip to Color Me Mine. It is a fun little shop down in Provo that has already-made pottery that you can paint. They provide the paints, stencils, etc. Once you are done painting the pieces they fire them in the kiln and then you can pick them up a few days later. A friend suggested this place to me as a fun outing with the kids. I was hesitant at first since my kids are so young but they had an absolute blast and can’t wait for the next time we can go back. It gets a little expensive so we’ll have to make it a special treat, but we had a good time. Plus, it gave us a lot of time to sit and visit together while we painted.

Each kid chose their own project to paint (Jake chose a football bank, Meg a big cereal bowl and Katelyn a little jewelry box) and then together we worked on a Father’s Day plate for Seth. It was fun and I would highly recommend it. They do have discount days where you can get in for a flat fee, but you need to check their website and then their calendar to find those specials. Have fun!

This is a picture before the pieces were fired. For those of you that don’t know, the pieces get really shiny and bright after they are cooked. They turned out super cute!
