MightyJohnsons.com is now a year old, and in the honor of the god Janus (for whom January is named) we’ll take a look back at 2008 before looking ahead to the new year.
So, here are some of our favorite posts from 2008. What a year!
January: Drew’s arrival trumps everything else. Five kids. Wow.
February: We’re a family of freaks, and this post highlighting all our bizarre talents proves it.
March: A busy month. I survived in a snowcave, Drew got blessed, and the kids made a huge mess for FHE.
April: Started the month with a classic April Fools’ joke which scared more than one or two of you; Jacob shows off his dancing skills.
May: We made several all-time stupid decisions which were both very stressful and expensive.
June: Manina won a washer and dryer set.
July: Jacob gets baptized. Claire goes to the hospital.
August: Summer wraps up with a fun golf outing and Seth conquering Suncrest.
September: We took a fun trip to St. George where Seth hiked the narrows and Manina went to Les Mis.
October: We love the fall leaves in the mountains and Halloween.
November: Megan has been losing teeth this year.
December: Manina has been losing money this year.

Is that all the longer it’s been–one year? Gosh, is seems like your site has always been there. It has certainly been a wonderful source of entertainment for your satellite family and a fantastic way for us all to stay abreast of ALL the happenings, whether good or sometimes sad.

Hello Manina,
Thanks for the New Year’s card (got it in the mail today) and for starting your own family blog! It was a great way to get caught up on what you have been up to, and man have you guys been busy:)
It has been a very long time since I’ve seen you or emailed you last (I’m guessing at least 5 years, maybe 8!) but it looks like things have been going great for you and your beautiful family.
We haven’t sent out our end of the year letter (I think we sent you one last year), but after seeing your blog, we might just have to start one ourselves.
Anyways, we (Tory, Gabriella (she turn 2 on Feb 13), and myself) are doing great and had a very eventful year that stayed eventful until the last day. Besides traveling in an RV for 2.5 months to start the year while throwing a surgery at Stanford Hosipitalfor Tory in the middle of it, watching Gabriella grow fast, and spending 5 weeks in Cancun in Oct/Nov our year was boring:) until two days after returning from Cancun we found out that we are expecting our second little one in Late July and then not two weeks later we sold our house, so we will be likely moving somewhere on the west coast.
So now we are just busy packing as the movers are coming to load us on Monday and then we will be heading back down to Cancun for 6 weeks on Jan 7th where we will hopefully come to a decision on where to go to. Our RV trip narrowed down the locations we are considering, but every few weeks we change our mind, but hope after a few week in Mexico we figure out the direction we are heading in.
Very nice website and I will have to try to stay in better touch. Send me an email and I will send you an updated picture of our family, most likely from Cancun:) as it is hard to get nice outdoor pics when it is minus 20 here in Anchorage.
