Christmas Festivites

The month of December flew by especially fast this year. I was well ahead of the game in November, but come December it seems everything was a blur. We were able to fit in a few extra things in addition to the Christmas parties and performances. I will let the pictures do most of the talking on this post.

We went down to Riverwoods Mall and visited Santa. Ellie was a little hesitant, but warmed up to him after realizing he would give her a candy cane.

Claire had her first grade gingerbread play. I am not sure I have ever seen anyone so excited for something as was she! Afterward she came up to me and said, “Boy mom, I almost got stage fright when it became my turn to speak.” What a cutie!

Drew had a Christmas performance for this preschool class at the University Mall. Needless to say, he got really nervous in front of all the people. Look closely. Yep, he was bawling! No, he wasn’t lightly sobbing, but rather he was hysterical. He is the one with his hands on his cheeks. I am happy to report that halfway through the songs, he got it together and sang with some enthusiasm. Of course he was thrilled to visit with Santa afterward.

Of course Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. We met Spencer, Rachel and their kiddos as well as Lisa and Ava for dinner at the food court at City Creek Mall. After eating we bundled up (it was super cold outside) and headed out to see the lights. It was awesome as usual.
