Merry Christmas from the Johnson Family! We had a wonderful holiday season. As usual we spent Christmas Eve at Seth’s parents house eating, playing the candy bar game, and reenacting the Nativity scene. It is one of those traditions the kids talk about weeks before and weeks after.
After leaving Mom and Dad’s house, we came home to continue some of our own traditions. Each kid opened a new pair of pajamas and then Jake led us (with his guitar) in singing a few Christmas carols. Next we had sparkling apple cider and Seth read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to the kiddos before tucking them into bed.
Santa’s work had been done while the kids were snuggled in their beds. In the morning everyone woke up (about 7:00) excited to see what Santa had brought. It was a fabulous Christmas. It seemed everyone was super happy with their gifts and we never felt the “after Christmas pit in our stomach” that so often follows opening way too many gifts.
We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. We are so thankful for this holiday season and the time to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
