Lots and Lots of Softball

Ellie’s softball season was pushed out until summer due to COVID, but thankfully it wasn’t cancelled. She play on a recreational team and Seth was the assistant coach. It was such a fun season. They won nearly every game. She was one of the top players and always got on base and made a bunch of awesome plays.

She loved it so much she decided to try out for an accelerated team after rec ended. She ended up getting on the Magpies 10U team. She quickly learned there was a lot more to softball than what she was seeing at the less competitive level. It was a challenging season, but she has improved and has learned to hit a much faster ball. She even got pretty good at sliding into home base. I am not sure she will continue playing at the accelerated level but I am proud of her for giving it a try, even when it got discouraging.

This was a Halloween tournament so they wore Halloween socks and put bruises, band-aids and blood on their faces. 🙂
