Annual Johnson Family Camp Out 2015

I am not sure how many years we have been doing our annual Johnson family camp out now, but it has been a very long time…I think my first one was when Drew was a baby so at least 8 years now. My kids look forward to it like Christmas. Under no circumstance can we miss it. This year was no different. We had a blast!

On Thursday we set up camp in the afternoon, made our dinners and played games (four square, riding scooters, Nukem, etc.). The Rowberrys often attend so we invited them again this year. Mom works so hard every year to make this fun for everyone. The kids now have certain expectations. We must always make homemade ice-cream, go on a hike and have a scavenger hunt. You know kids, you can’t change any of it without serious repercussions.

More hiking…

A lot of time we sit around playing cards, eating (lots and lots of eating), visiting, roasting marshmallows, going on walks and more. This year Mom even brought some fun water games to help us bear the heat a little better. In the evening we all make a dutch oven meal, side or dessert to share. It is amazing how great all the food tastes.

Thanks everyone for making this a great family tradition!
