Following tradition, we started our Fourth of July festivities on July 3rd at the Riverton parade with all of our extended family. The kids love it! They have such a great time seeing all the floats and catching loads and loads of candy.
After the parade we went back to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson’s home for dinner and fireworks.
The next morning we decided it would be fun to start a new tradition. We woke up early and rode our bikes to breakfast. Our intention was to go to Kneaders but we quickly found out that we weren’t the only ones with this great “Fourth of July breakfast” idea. The line was well out the door. So we trotted across the street to Burger King and had breakfast there instead. It turned out great and there was no line at all. We treated ourselves to Cinnabons and smoothies…yum!
After we returned home we packed up and headed to the pool for the afternoon. We do this every year because it isn’t very busy and the kids always have a great time.
Later that evening we got together with a group of friends for a barbeque, jump houses, and fireworks. Of course I forgot my camera but everyone had a great time. I always love celebrating the birth of our wonderful nation. Happy Fourth!!
