Halloween 2012

We had another fabulous Halloween with more candy than ever! The week began with the kids wanting to carve their pumpkins. I was cleaning a whole lot a gunk out of a whole lot of pumpkins. Then Megan and Katelyn began carving their own. Seth helped the little ones get their pumpkins carved to their liking. They did a great job!

Next came class parties galore! Everyone except Ellie and Jake had fun parties with their friends at school. After school we had our annual neighborhood trunk-or-treat where the littler kids were able to do a lot of trick-or-treating without having to walk a lot of distance. It was perfect for Drew and Ellie!

After the trunk-or-treat, we went over to the Wright’s house for the annual hotdog roast with our ward. We always appreciate not having to worry about dinner on Halloween. Following dinner, the kids broke into groups (some with adults and some not) and headed out. Jacob came home at nine with a pillow case nearly full to the top. He had over 300 pieces of candy. Megan and Katelyn weren’t far behind with 200+ pieces. Claire, Drew and Ellie were content with just hitting a few houses in our neighborhood and calling it good.

We were lucky enough to have Seth’s brother, David, and his wife and little girl join us for Halloween. We always love having them over for Halloween! Unfortunately, I didn’t get pictures of all the kids this year, but Ellie was a candy corn witch, Drew was Captain America for school and dracula for trick-or-treating, Katelyn was a vampire, Claire was a baby, Megan was an old lady and Jake was Robin. He only threw on the costume last minute to be able to go get some candy. Sadly, the older kids are getting less and less excited to dress-up. Seth and I did get in the spirit of Halloween earlier in the week for a neighborhood Halloween party. We were Bat Woman and Robin.
