There is no other way to put it! Soccer was in full season around our house. We have several games every week. This year Drew, Megan and Jake are all playing. For the month of September and part of October we had at least three, sometimes more games a week.
This year was Drew’s first year. It proved to be a great experience for him. We realized how tough he can be when he wants something bad enough. If he said he was going to get a goal, he did (even if it meant knocking over everyone in his way). He was lucky enough to play with a couple of his good friends, Grace and Gwen (and bonus for me too since I got to visit with their parents each time). It was a great first season for Drew!
Jake played soccer competitively a couple years back. After feeling overwhelmed by all the competition sports we have around here, we made him narrow it down too two sports. Soccer got dropped. After having a rough year of tackle football last year, he decided to try out a recreation soccer team this year. He really has enjoyed it. They only had one loss this season and that was a very close game. It has been fun to watch him really have fun doing something he loves. *Pics below are courtesy of our good friends, the Birds. Thanks Ivan!

Jake and some of his teammates.
Megan has gone competitive. She plays for Plymouth FC and has a rigorous schedule. She played D1 this year and practiced twice a week and had at least one game every week. She is becoming a fantastic soccer player. Her speed is amazing! She play mid-defender and wins over 50% of the balls. I love watching her games. Unfortunately they didn’t have a winning season, but almost every game was close and I am predicting exciting things in the spring. Unfortunately I don’t have many photos of Megan playing. I was too busy screaming from the sidelines!

Megan and her friend Addy before a cold 8:00 am game in Kaysville. Brrr!

OMG, Jake and Meg look so grown up! What has happened since we last saw them this spring? Turn our backs and they will be gone… ๐ฆ
What SUPERB athletes these little babies have come to be. We expect we will be seeing some great things in the years to come.
