Let the fun begin!

With school starting so do lot of fun activities for the kids. Jake, Meg, and KK are all in soccer. That keeps us busy most nights of the week. Jacob’s team continues to do well. I don’t see a real love for soccer from him but he gets exercise and seems to enjoy himself. Megan has really come into her own and dominates the soccer field. She is usually found with the ball and all the girls chasing behind her. It has been a fun year to watch her. This is KK’s second year and she is starting to get the hang of the game. When she wants the ball she gets the ball and has even scored a few times this year.

Claire started gymnastics and although she reminds me a little of a lead brick she is having a lot of fun. She loves the structured activity and has wanted to be a “big girl like her brother and sisters for as long as I can remember. Although she is the youngest in the class she has no trouble doing her somersaults and bar exercises.

Jake’s guitar lessons began this week and Megan started piano too. She is so excited to finally be old enough to start playing. After her first lesson yesterday she wouldn’t get off the piano. She kept playing her songs over and over. I wonder how long that will last?! 🙂

We struggle with finding a good balance between play time and structured activities, but other than Jacob’s soccer, most everything is really low key. We only do activities they choose to do and seem to enjoy. Plus, it keeps me busy so I don’t think about my pregnant, uncomfortable self. We are so loving being settled and enjoying life again, even if it will only be for a few months before we begin house hunting.
