Back to school

Yesterday was the first day of school for Jacob (a big 4th grader) and Meg (a sweet 2nd grader). As if all the changes we have recently been through aren’t enough, we are throwing them into a new school with new friends AND a new method of transportation. My kids have always lived close enough to the school that I would drive them. Now we are far enough away that we are on the bus route. For the first time ever Meg and Jake rode the bus to school. I have to admit I quite like the bus idea. It saves me a lot of time and a lot of back pain from loading all my kids into the car a couple times a day.

Both Meg and Jacob made it through the school day without much issue. Megan has a good friend that helped her learn her way through the school. She came home all smiles. Jacob had a more difficult day. He really missed his buddies from his other school, but he was a trooper. He made it through the day only getting lost one time. I am sure it will get easier as time goes on. I am sure proud of these kiddos. They have been through a lot this summer and they just keep impressing me.

Katelyn will start kindergarten next week and it will just be me, Claire and Drew (till November anyway). What will I ever do with my time?

  1. Wow! Hard to believe, isn’t it? They will soon be all grown up… and, the rest of us will just be all spawned out waiting for the high tide to come get us. Just kidding (sort of). 🙂

    They are too cute.
