A family of penguins

Seth’s brother, Jesse, sculpted us a family of seven penguins, each representing our roles, interests, etc. He did such a great job that we wanted to share them on our blog. He made them out of clay, cooked them, and then painted them. He just recently started doing this and we were so pleased. They are the cutest little penguins. The kids LOVE to show their friends the penguins and especially how each one represents them. You can probably tell from the picture which one is which but you’ll notice the details more if I point them out.

From left to right:

  • Seth: wearing a cycling helmet
  • Manina: wearing an apron (I guess I should start cooking)
  • Jacob: Wearing a BYU cap and holding a football
  • Megan: carrying her school books wearing earrings and a necklace
  • Katelyn: carrying a teddy bear and wearing earrings and a bracelet
  • Claire: wearing her purple swimsuit (For those of you that don’t know, this is the exact swimsuit she leaves at Grandma Jan’s house to wear in her hot tub. She puts in on the second she gets there and wears it until I force her to change.)
  • Drew: sucking his finger and wearing an army cap (he army crawls all over the house)

Thanks Jess! We love the penguins. If anyone is interested in having Jesse sculpt something feel free to drop him an email. I am sure he would be willing to do it for the right price. 🙂

  2. Jesse — you could put your penguins on e-bay and take orders.
They’re incredible. We watched “The march of the Pengins” and loved them. Those of Seth’s family are really clever!
