Thanksgiving in St. George

This year we spent Thanksgiving at my dad’s place in St. George. We rarely get to spend the holidays with my family because they are generally in Alaska, but with my dad having a place closer we get quite a few opportunities to visit him. We had a great time!

The kids got to test out Grandpa’s new yellow golf cart. That was the hit of the visit. The kids begged for rides all day. Jacob loved it because he could drive it by himself (with supervision of course). Truth be told, I think Seth enjoyed it the most and often said the “kids” wanted to take it for another spin…yeah right!

My dad and I braved Black Friday. I go every year with my good friend Jen, but since I was in St. George I made my dad go. It wasn’t that exciting this year as I wasn’t searching for anything specific but I couldn’t handle missing it so we got up early and hit the big sales. We also went out for breakfast and enjoyed spending some time together.

Later that afternoon we went to “Fiesta Fun” where we drove the Go-Karts and bumper boats. On Saturday we hiked to Anasazi ridge and then chilled at the house for the afternoon. Dad and I cooked some “hash” — no, not the drug, just a concoction of carrots, shredded roast, potatoes, onions, and gravy. Oh the memories…I used to eat that often as a kid. πŸ™‚

Overall, it was a great visit and hope to make it down that way again soon!

  1. Ahhhh… ’twas a great time had by all! ‘Course, Mom and Dad were pretty tired trying to keep five little Mexican Jumping Beans contained. That’s no easy task, but it was fun!

My big moment was KK jumping from the gate, at the go carts, and getting cart #50 so she and G’pa could whoop her Daddy like a step-child. Ah, the glory of victory…. πŸ™‚

It was really great having you all down for the Holiday’s. I especially loved our time cooking together, Mani–we did pretty good, huh? Hope to see you all again soon. G’ma Kathy and I will be back in March. Yeah!
