We had a wonderful Christmas this year! It was filled with lots of snow, family time, and great traditions. We tried to be a little more conservative this year and it seemed to work out better than ever. The kids still got plenty of fun presents but weren’t so overwhelmed with gifts that they weren’t able to really enjoy the items they received.
We all met up at Seth’s parent’s house on Christmas Eve for a delicious dinner and gift exchange. As always the grandchildren performed the nativity.
We came back home. We have a tradition that the kids get to open one present on Christmas Eve — pajamas of course!
Then we sang some of our favorite Christmas carols. Seth and Jacob played along with their guitars.
We finished Christmas Eve with a reading from The Night Before Christmas pop-up book. The kids can’t wait for Seth to read this story before we tuck them into bed.
Then the real work began. Seth’s brother, Matt, joined us for a sleepover and helped us get ready for Santa. The kids all loved having Uncle Matt with them this year.
Grandma and Grandpa Johnson also joined us early Christmas morning to see the kids come out and watch them open gifts. We were so happy to have them take part in our Christmas fun!
Here are some pics of Christmas morning.

Grandma Jan helping Katelyn put on some of her new “kid friendly” make-up.

Jacob sporting his new Tomlinson jersey (thanks Grandma Ria) and Drew in his new hiking backpack (thanks Grandpa Gary and Grandma Kathy).

Meg in her new hat and her quilt kit.

All the kids in their cute fleece vests they got from Aunt Ali and Uncle Derek — love them!
We hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!
